Seed Academy is co-founded by Dr. Jaya Sastri & Vani Sastri, and is a sister concern of Chennai’s top ranked preschool, SEED.

She has over 35 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education, in the U.S. and in India. She is the founder-director of SEED preschools, which has been ranked as one of Chennai’s top preschools for over ten years. A dynamic leader, Dr. Jaya’s vision and strategic guidance are instrumental to Seed Academy. Dr. Jaya has a Masters in Early Childhood Education from the U.S., and was conferred an honorary doctorate in recognition of her contributions to the Early Childhood Education field. She was the Director of Programs at Headstart in the U.S.A. She has also founded and successfully ran her own international school in Nigeria.

A passionate educator, Vani loves working with children to bring out their best. She is focusing on breaking stereotypes and creating a school that disrupts the age-old education system, bringing in the latest in educational research to Chennai. An alumnus of the renowned Harvard Graduate School of Education & Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Vani worked with McKinsey & Company in San Francisco before returning to India to work with SEED & Seed Academy full time. She also completed the prestigious Stanford Seed Transformation Program by Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2018. Her aim is to bring the best education research from around the world to life in our Seed Academy classrooms
